Volunteer with Us
Are you passionate about horses and enjoy supporting others? Volunteering at Happy Hooves is a meaningful way to spend time in nature, connect with gentle animals, and make a real difference in people’s lives.
We’re looking for caring, reliable volunteers to help out during our therapeutic riding sessions. No coaching or horse experience is required to start—just a willingness to learn, be present, and support the team.
WHAT VOLUNTEERS DO:
-
Lead horses around the arena during sessions
-
Walk beside riders (children or adults) to ensure their safety
-
Help set up activities and occasionally join in
-
Over time, assist with basic horse care like grooming or saddling (optional)
All sessions are guided by trained coaches—volunteers are never left alone with participants, and you’ll always be supported as part of a team.

TIME COMMITMENT:
-
Minimum 3 hours per week, during school term times only
-
Volunteers get mid-term and holiday breaks in line with our session calendar
GETTING HERE:
Due to our rural location, volunteers must have their own transport. Unfortunately, public transport access is limited.
REQUIREMENTS:
-
Over 18 years old (Transition year students between 15 and 17)
-
Garda vetted (we’ll help you with the process)
-
Friendly, dependable, and happy to work as part of a team
-
Comfortable around horses (or open to learning!)
If you love the idea of working with horses, being outdoors, and supporting people of all ages and abilities, we’d love to hear from you!
